Joel Turnbull will talk about his experiences implementing a web site with an OODB
Overview
What is Gemstone? How do I get started with Gemstone? Why would I get started with Gemstone?
All of these questions will be answered!
We'll do object persistence in Gemstone. We'll persist objects from a web application. We'll talk about Maglev and GLASS. We'll demonstrate how Gemstone works and introduce Gemstone collection classes. We'll explore issues of concurrency in a transactional multiple user environment. We'll talk about Gemstone in production. This is meant to be a hands-on talk, so come ready to figure some things out!

Meeting Notes - Feb 2010
The meeting on Tuesday drew a large crowd, with lots of new people attending. Jim gave a terrific presentation on the concepts of Source Code Control while staying away from the details of command line options. After the presentation he guided the group in working though some common GIT commands in a hands on workshop.
After the meeting we went to our favorite hang-out and lots of light conversations and deep discussions ensued.
